LCSHS ANNUAL INDUCTION EVENT TO TAKE PLACE ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1

BRIDGEWATER, NS – The Lunenburg County Sport Heritage Society (LCSHS) Board of Directors is excited to announce its Class of 2026 Wall of Fame inductees, which features four athletes, one team, and the organization’s first inductee in the newly created Legacy Category.

This year’s inductees include:

ATHLETE CATEGORY

Ken MacLeod (Bridgewater) – Hockey
Jenna Martin (Bridgewater) – Track & Field
Harold “Duke” Morgan (Bridgewater) – Baseball
Roger Whynott (Mahone Bay) – Boxing

TEAM CATEGORY

Rafuse Men’s Curling Team (Brian Rafuse, Curt Palmer, David Slauenwhite, Glenn Josephson (Bridgewater) – Curling

LEGACY CATEGORY

Bridgewater Barracudas Swim Team – Swimming

“This year’s inductees really demonstrate the very best of Lunenburg County – not only in terms of performance on provincial, national, and international stages, but also in how they have represented our communities with dignity, grace, and class,” said LCSHS Board of Directors Co-Chairperson Mark Nelson.

“The four individual athletes, the Rafuse curling team, and the Barracudas organization are exemplary examples of leadership, sportsmanship, and the long-lasting impacts that locally developed athletes can have in our communities,” added Co-Chairperson Cy Mayo. “We’re incredibly grateful, as an organization, to be able to honour each of these nominees.”

The gala induction celebration will take place in the Galleria at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre (LCLC) on Sunday, November 1, 2026. A reception will be held beginning at 6 p.m., with the induction festivities beginning around 6:30 p.m.

TICKETS AND LIVESTREAMING

Tickets for this year’s event are available for purchase at the Guest Services Desk at the LCLC. The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for students per ticket.

As in past years, for those unable to attend in person, the event will be livestreamed on the Lunenburg County Sport Heritage Society’s Facebook page. Live coverage will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. on November 1.
