Lunenburg County Sport Heritage Society honours second inductee class
On Sunday, November 4, the second annual Lunenburg County Sport Heritage Society (LCSHS) Wall of Fame induction ceremony will be held at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre in Bridgewater.
This year’s event will pay tribute to three builders, two athletes, and one team that have excelled in their achievements, commitment, and dedication to sport, all while boasting strong ties to Lunenburg County.
“We’re really very excited about our second class of inductees,” said LCSHS committee co-chair Marilyn Neily.
“We have a range of honourees, from those who have worked tirelessly here at a local level in Lunenburg County to a team that achieved success in sport at a global level at a very young age.”
In the Builder Category, this year’s inductees include:
Builder — Brian Langley (Track & field)
Builder — Tom Ernst (Administrator, coach)
Builder — Kevin Heisler (Track & field)
In the Athlete Category, the 2018 inductees include:
Athlete — Diane Boulanger (Field hockey, basketball)
Athlete — Scott Saunders (Curling)
And, finally, in the Team Category, the LCSHS will enshrine curling’s Team Fay (Mary Fay, Kristin Clarke, Karlee Burgess, Janique LeBlanc, and coach Andrew Atherton).

Tickets for this year’s induction gala are available to the public for purchase at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre Guest Services Desk.
In addition to the induction ceremony and plaque unveiling, the evening will also feature renowned broadcaster Steve Armitage as the keynote speaker.
Committee co-chair Carroll Randall said that while the induction ceremony is an event to honour those who have made outstanding contributions to the athletic world, he hopes that it will inspire other Lunenburg County connected athletes, teams, and builders alike to strive for national and international success.
“What each of these inductees has shown us is that there’s no limit to what you can do and how far you can go,” he said. “We hope very much that the next generation of athletes and builders are inspired by what they see here.”
